Auburntown Mayor

Roger F. Turney was elected to his first term as Auburntown Mayor in Fall of 1976. Re-elected since, with his recent re-election in the Fall of 2021. As Mayor he acts in the best interest of the community,

Mayor Turney serves the community as a whole including:

President of the DeKalb Utility District
Chairman of Adams Memorial Library
Member of the 911 Board
Retired Educator serving as both educator and principal (44 years)
Elder at Auburntown Church of Christ

Mayor Turney is honored to have the "Roger F. Turney Gymnasium" in Auburntown named after him. The gym is registered on the National Historical Register.

Welcome to the Auburntown website. I invite you to explore our website and learn all Auburntown has to offer our businesses and residents.

Due to foresight of the original mayor and city council the city was incorporated. This allowed the city to receive shared state revenue and grants that have been used to provide streetlights, paved streets, a city park, a community center, and a public water supply for the community. As a community with a city government, we also have the ability to provide other services such as a library, post office, and volunteer fire department. While we are a growing community, we are committed to maintaining our small-town charm, while preserving the historic values of Auburntown and its residents.
