Auburntown Community
Auburntown Tennessee is a hometown community located in Cannon County. Once known as Popular Stand, due to large population of poplar trees in the area, Auburntown was eventually renamed after Auburn, New York. Auburntown was incorporated in 1949. Known for its small-town charm, rich history and strong sense of community which includes well-preserved buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

In January of 1979 the Auburntown Lions Club began work on what would be the Auburntown Community Center, it was determined later that the Lions Club would turn the building over to the city to complete the pay off with assistances from the Lion Club and used for the community. Auburntown Community Center was once the location of the very popular Lion Club Fish Fry fundraiser. Money raised helped to continue charitable purposes including funding the community center. Today the community center is managed by the Auburntown Mayor. Auburntown residents can request to rent the community center.

Auburntown Post Office handles all postal needs. Including PO Box rental.
Hours: Mon-Fri. 9am-1pm Sat.-9am-12:30 pm Sun.-Closed Lobby remains open 24-7. Auburntown Residents; Food Outreach is open in the Lobby of the post office 24-7. Auburntown residents in need of food assistances are welcome to take as much food as needed. |

Auburntown community park named after Dwight Hancock's father. C.E was a banker in Auburntown. It had been passed down from generation-to-generation beginning with a land grant to the first owner Richard T. Hancock. Dwight Hancock donated the park to the community in 1995.
CS Hawkins Park currently has several playground areas, Patrick Frank pavilion, gazabo, basketball court, Creekside walking track, land to roam, and plenty of parking. |
